Qualifications

The students master the external processes and the operating principles of paper making, and they can also size roughly the main devices of the processes. The students understand on what theoretical knowledge the sizing of different part processes is based. The students master the central know-how produced and needed in process design and they can also utilize it as the basis of design. The students have the readiness to work in cooperation with the process design unit of a paper mill.
The students have basic knowledge of the strength of materials and they are able to make static sizing of simple materials with the help of manuals and sizing table cases. The students are able to form a mechanical model from a structure under study and they can solve the stresses, tensions and transformations affecting it. The students are able to outline cases which require more precise and more profound study of the strength.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) the student has attained the objectives of the course at an excellent level.
Good (3-4) the student has attained the objectives of the course at a satisfactory level.
Satisfactory (1-2) as a rule, the student has attained the objectives of the course.
