Objective

The students are familiar with the practices of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, e.g. student support services and marketing methods, and are able to provide counselling to other students on the use of the services available to them. They have acquired teamwork and presentation skills and are able to act in marketing and student recruitment events.

Content

The course is divided into two parts: 1. The general part introduces the counselling services provided by Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, student benefits, the duties of tutors, and civil influence (1 ECTS cr). 2. In the advanced part of the course, students’ competencies are enhanced in their chosen area (peer tutoring, marketing and international tutoring), and they provide tutoring to first-year students (2 cr).
