The ABCs of Innovation Activities (3cr)

Objective

Based on his/her own competence, the student recognises opportunities to take part in innovation activities and understands his/her role and position in different parts of the overall innovation chain. The student can participate in an enriching way to innovation activities and the development activities of networks formed by its various players, and can add his/her personal contribution to joint development. The student recognises the possibilities of his/her outputs to develop into true innovations or appropriate products that can be commercialised from the entrepreneurial standpoint.

Content

Innovation development workshops with other university students. Intensive IdeaCamp-style meetings focus on developing ideas based on the needs of clients. Assessment of his/her competence and analysis of productisation and its relationship to the functions of different players in the innovation chain. Production of new products and enterprise start-ups.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The general criteria for the competence resulting from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a university of applied sciences are presented on the website: (http://www.jamk.fi/forstudents/studyguid e).
The learning outcomes are assessed in relation to the competence goals for the course. The course is graded pass/fail. The course is graded as fail if the student does not achieve the minimum goals set for passing the course. The assessment criteria for passing the course are:
* the student recognises their own competence and related development needs in relation to innovation activities and entrepreneurship studies
* the student demonstrates activeness and skills that develop enriching interaction in seminars, meetings, workshops and other developed encounters associated with activating innovation activities
* based on his/her competence, the student recognises their opportunities to develop various innovations, enterprise start-ups and products that can be commercialised
