2 - You can understand quite often the sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, traveling, health issues). You can participate on communication situations related to simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters, but you need a lot of help and repetition. You will learn to
• understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, traveling)
• describe surroundings and one’s own health
• express opinions and feelings.
You will study
• self-oriented language learning outside the classroom
• language learning strategies
• communication culture in Finland
• communication in simple working life situations.
Objective
You will learn the basics of the Finnish language structure (past tense verbs, sentence structure, noun declination). You will be able to communicate in familiar everyday life situations. You will be able to express opinions and feelings in simple way. You are introduced to the typical features of the Finnish communication culture and self-study methods.
