Prerequisites: InnoFlash 2 ECTS, Entrepreneurship 3 ECTS and Basics of Sustainable Development 1 ECTS completed or approved.
The assessment of implementation is based on the performance of the tasks within the sections.
Project Management Theory 2 ECTS:
Online exam and other learning tasks (Pass/Fail)
Project planning and implementation 3 ECTS:
Learning tasks, including project plan and project report. In addition, independent and group reflection (Pass/Fail).

The project will be carried out in a working life-oriented way. The client is a company or other organisation.

Teaching methods
This is the English implementation. All students taking the 5 ECTS Working Life Project in autumn 2025 will enrol for this implementation. Note! If you want to make a project for a commission you have acquired yourself (non-stop project), follow the instructions on the intranet: https://jamkstudent.sharepoint.com/sites/Future-Factory-projektit-Elmo#non-stop-toteutukset
1. You start your studies with 2 ECTS theory studies in Moodle.
2. You choose the assignment you want to work on in Moodle. Any accreditation must be done at the latest before choosing the assignment.
3. You join the assignment-specific Moodle workspace by self-registering. You will also join your own project group.
In between joint meetings, student groups work in a student-led way and meet with coaches on an individually agreed schedule, using digital and interactive tools.
Project Management Theory 2 ECTS independent
You will study the theory of project management online independently and learn the key concepts of project work. You will study online material and complete independent assignments to prepare you for the final exam of the module.
Project planning and implementation 3 ECTS in a group
You will plan, implement and report on a work-life driven project together with your project team. You will apply project management and sustainable development theory and sector-specific skills to project work. You will evaluate the tools and methods you use in your project and their suitability for addressing work-life development challenges. You will collaborate and communicate with different stakeholders. A coach will support your team during the project work. You will reflect on your own and the group's competences at different stages of the process. The assignment you choose will determine whether you can do your learning entirely online or whether it involves a face-to-face presence. Information on the attendance requirement can be found in the assignment announcement.
Location and time
You will complete the Project Management Theory 2 ECTS section independently in Moodle. You will start the planning and implementation phase of a project by participating in the course info.
You will participate in the mandatory joint meetings of the course, which are the kickoff, the start of the implementation phase and the project's final meeting. During the project work, you will also attend the coaching meetings as defined and agreed with your team coach. You will also meet with your project team.
The assignment you choose determines whether you can do your studies entirely online or whether they involve face-to-face attendance. Information on the attendance requirement can be found in the assignment announcement.

Qualifications
Previous studies: InnoFlash 2 cr, Entrepreneurship 3 cr and Fundamentals of Sustainable Development 1 cr
Required prior knowledge: The student understands the principles of user-centred design and the role of the customer in the development of services and products. The student understands the prerequisites for profitable business. The student is able to manage himself/herself and to work in a multidisciplinary team. The student has a good understanding of the principles of sustainable development.
Content
The course provides you with a theoretical basis for project management and the skills to plan, implement and report on a work-life development project. Together with a multidisciplinary group of students, you will apply your own knowledge, including knowledge of sustainable development and knowledge acquired in the InnoFlash and Entrepreneurship courses or equivalent knowledge in a multifaceted work-life development project.

1: You have mastered the theory of project management:
- the basic concepts of project management and the importance of project work as future skills for working life.
- the project life cycle, phases and tasks.
- the different types of projects and their suitability for different situations.
- the roles and responsibilities of the project organisation.
- the importance of customer orientation in projects.
2: You can plan, implement, close and report on a needs-driven work-life project as part of a multidisciplinary project team, applying sustainable development skills and innovation and project management methods.
3: You work constructively, responsibly and customer-oriented as part of a project team and network. You reflect critically on your own activities and the development of your competences.
4: Communicate professionally and constructively between the project team and stakeholders, making appropriate use of the opportunities offered by digitalisation. You contribute to the solution of a work-life development project by interacting and sharing your expertise.
