Descriptions
The studies of the health promotion orientation option deepen your knowledge of health promotion in accordance with international health promotion competence requirements. You acquire skills to act as an expert or coordinator of welfare and health promotion in public and private organizations and associations or as an entrepreneur. You can anticipate the national and international development of the social and health sector and develop the activities and operating models for the promotion of well-being and health in your own region and organization based on evidence. The studies strengthen the preventive, well-being, health and functional ability of experts working in the operating environment of the social and health sector based on multi-expertise.
As a health promotion graduate, you can also apply for world-renowned personal accreditation as a Health Promotion Practitioner from IUHPE, in which case you will be at the forefront of developing wellness services to meet modern requirements and implement future-oriented health promotion programs, plans and methods of operation.
Development
Postgraduate studies and working life cooperation:
After graduation, you can apply for postgraduate studies at universities or vocational teacher training colleges. You can also continue your studies by applying, for example, to similar further education programs at foreign universities, for example EURDES universities. The University of Applied Sciences offers skills development opportunities, e.g. in an open university of applied sciences, in specialization courses and in continuing education based on working life.

The degree program in health promotion gives you skills for a demanding level of expertise as a health promotion expert in various cooperation networks.
The studies strengthen the proactive development and evaluation of health promotion from the perspective of global and national phenomena. The studies provide the knowledge and skills to lead the planning of health promotion activities and utilize health communication as a means of narrowing health differences.You also have the opportunity to complete a double degree (DDP) jointly implemented by Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences and Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) located in Austria.
You study remotely:
The studies are carried out as distance learning, so you can study regardless of where you live or work. Distance learning includes e.g. webinars, working in a group, online discussions with a group or instructor, working on tasks independently, video lectures and other self-directed study.
Central to the learning process is the interaction of a multidisciplinary student group and the sharing of experiences while learning in a community.Distance learning requires you to have basic digital skills, the development of which is also supported during your studies. You have the support and guidance of study courses and tutor teachers throughout your studies.
