Description
The systems maintenance orientation of JAMK's Information and Communication Technology degree program provides students with a strong technical foundation for managing and maintaining system infrastructure. Orientation courses broadly cover different operating systems and technologies, preparing students for versatile tasks related to the planning, maintenance and development of IT infrastructure. Students learn about managing the Windows environment in the course "Windows domain administration" and delve deeper into the wider management of Windows infrastructure in the course "Windows infrastructure administration". In addition, Linux infrastructure services play a central role, giving students a versatile perspective on different operating systems. The "Service platforms" and "Scalability and high availability" courses prepare students to design and maintain efficient and reliable services that meet the needs of organizations. The "Management and control of services" course, on the other hand, teaches effective service management and control. The orientation also includes courses such as "Data Center Infrastructure Technologies," "Server and Container Virtualization," and "Data Center and Service Management," which provide students with an in-depth understanding of modern infrastructure technology and virtualization. The "Cloud Architectures and Platforms" and "Automation and Orchestration" courses prepare students to manage cloud environments and automation, which are central to the modern IT environment. The Data Center Networks course complements the orientation by providing an understanding of the design and management of data center networks. The focus on systems maintenance equips students with the versatile skills needed to design and maintain complex IT infrastructures. Whether it's physical servers, virtual machines, or cloud environments, this orientation provides a comprehensive understanding of the essential aspects of systems maintenance.
