Objective

The student has expanded and deepened his or her expertise in health promotion in a chosen area of health promotion in accordance with the personal career and development plan.

Content

Health promotion expertise based on European accreditation criteria(EuHP, International Union for Health Promotion and Education)

Expanding and deepening of health promotion expertise will based on student’s personal study and career plan.

More detailed content of the course will be agreed upon at the start of the course on the basis of the students’ Personal Study and Career Plans.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The general criteria of the competences that the Master's Degrees awarded by Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences provide can be found on JAMK's web pages (www.jamk.fi/english/forstudents/studyguidemaster). The learning outcomes of individual courses are assessed in relation to the objectives of the course concerned. Assessment is based on knowledge, skills and competence in accordance with the National and European Qualifications Framework (NQF/EQF), level 7.

This course is graded as Pass/Fail, marked as S (Pass) or 0 (Fail).

If the student does not meet the minimum criteria set for the course, the grade is 0 (Fail).

Pass (S): The student has specialised knowledge in the field of health promotion that enables original thinking and corresponds to the level of knowledge required from an expert in health promotion. He or she has critical understanding of questions related to knowledge in the field and interfaces between different fields. The student possesses problem-solving skills associated with the particular issue of health promotion required from an expert in health promotion when developing new knowledge, action methods, interventions and combining information from different fields. He or she has the capability to manage and renew health promotion interventions and action methods in demanding work and study environments requiring a new approach with reference to the specific aspect of health promotion chosen by him or her. The student has the ability to take responsibility for contributing to professional knowledge and practice and/or for reviewing the strategic performance of teams.
