Objective

The students are familiarised with the destination and topic of the study tour. They develop their data acquisition skills and actively participate in creating the objectives of the tour, as well as in practical travel arrangements. During the tour, they are introduced to service business and chosen targets, and report on them. They analyse and assess the service business of the chosen destinations and targets, and look for development proposals by benchmarking them against targets in Finland. The student is able to communicate effectively in English in oral and written formats for different stakeholders in global environment.

Qualifications

Students are able to communicate fluently in English.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The course is graded as Pass/Fail, marked as “S (Pass)” and “0 (Fail)”.

S (Pass): The student shows good knowledge of material and destination of the study tour. He is able to communicate his objestives in an effective way. The student demonstrates the ability to manage in real-life situations and challenges abroad with good communications skills in English.

F (Fail): The students is not able to show knowledge of the destination country nor a topic of the study tour. He does not participate in creating the objectives of the tour, as well as in practical travel arrangements. He fail to write a report.
