Objective
Students will acquire a sound knowledge of the considerations and analyses that must be carried out in order to start one’s own business. A business plan forms the foundation for implementing a business idea, and it is necessary in order to raise the capital needed to start a business. The focus will be on the music/entertainment business, and its distinctive character.
Content
During the course, students will write their own business plans (individually or in groups) which should address practical concerns such as establishing, running and managing a business. Key words are: Market plan (market analysis), strategy (marketing strategy, business strategy), organization, financial plan (cost analysis, profitability, risk assessment).

completed first and second-year studies
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
o excellent (5) students show an excellent understanding of the key issues and their work is very well-produced
o good (3-4) students understand the main processes and concepts and their work is of a reasonable standard
o satisfactory (1-2) students gain and demonstrate enough knowledge to pass the course
