Objective

The students achieve the professional skills of a choir conductor. They become deeply acquainted with the different areas of choir conducting. They command a versatile choir repertoire comprising diverse style periods, nationally and internationally. They possess a professional musician's ensemble work skills, and command the professional work habits and social skills necessary for professional work in diverse choir conducting tasks. They are able to work with students of different ages and cultural backgrounds.

Command of ergonomic conducting technique
Knowledge about voice and skills
Partiture analysis and playing
Group command
Oral communication
Familiarization with voice use and expression skills
Command of team work
Choir conductor's interactive skills
Familiarization with the main stream choir repertoire
Phonetic elemental skills in at least the following languages: Finnish, Italian, Swedish, German, English, French, Latin.

Qualifications

Music Institute certificate or corresponding skills

Good command of group dynamics, of rehearsal skills, of pitch giving,
of conducting technique
good knowledge of the works

Satisfactory (1,2)
Satisfactory command of group dynamics, of rehearsal techniques of pitch giving, of conducting technique.
Conducts only beat patterns.
