Objective
LANGUAGES: The students recognises Italian and French pronunciation's special traits. They are able to apply their knowledge according to the singing style as their ability in the language in question develops.
VOICE PHYSIOLOGY: The students learn the basis of voice physiology and of factors influencing the singing voice. They are able to analyse errors occurring in voice sound formation and have basic knowldege of their correction.
POETRY ANALYSIS: The students understand poetic language and imagery. They are able to analyze poetic language profiting from knowledge in history of literature and stylistic background elements. They have the means to create interpretation from a poem's text.
Content
Italian and French phonetics, elements of voice sound production and physiology, and poetic analysis.

Pass:
The students participate actively in lessons (Two sick-leaves are accepted; they are to be announced. Other abscences must be announced well in advance and the assignments must be made up). The students must complete their asssignments and pass the examination. They know Italian and French sounds and their pronounciation in diverse contexts. They are able to write for their own use text in phonetic symbols (IPA), using the respective written text's and/or by ear. The students can read aloud and sing pronouncing quite flawlessly the chosen texts. They can tell the difference between spoken and sung French.
