Objective
The students are able to act in an appropriate and skilful way in various communication and interaction situations faced in the world of work. They are able to take the recipient, the situation, and the requirements of their professional field into consideration and communicate in a structured, intelligible and convincing manner. They are able and prepared to develop their Finnish language and communication skills as part of their professional competence.
Content
The contents of the course are selected from the following according to the requirements of the degree programme concerned:
1) Work-related group communication (principles of group communication; discussion, listening and argumentation skills; procedures, documentation and feedback in the most common work-related communication; self assessment and peer assessment)
2) Expert-to-expert communication (target-oriented development of one’s own communication competence; work-related text types; role of communication culture and non-verbal communication)
3) Official-style report in accordance with JAMK's Project Reporting Instructions.
Qualifications
Good written and spoken skills in Finnish.

The learning outcomes of individual courses are assessed in relation to the objectives of the course concerned. Unless otherwise defined in the curriculum, a course accepted as completed is assessed on the following five-step scale: 5 (Excellent), 4 (Very Good), 3 (Good), 2 (Satisfactory), 1 (Sufficient), If the student does not meet the minimum criteria set for the course, the grade is 0 (Fail). In special cases, a course may be graded as Pass/Fail, marked as “S (Pass)” and “0 (Fail)”.
