Objective

The students master and understand the framework of business activity in the ICT sector and its significance to the activity of the company. They perceive the interrelationships of information systems in business activity, understand the interconnections of the different processes of business activity and they understand the significance of ICT infrastructure to the activity of the systems. The students perceive also the significance of activity management systems to the company’s activity and development.

The students build in teams realistic business plan for an ICT start-up company of their choice

The students play few rounds of online Venture Capital game acting both as Entrepreneurs and Venture Capitalists – optimizing cash positions

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5): The students master the terminology and work actively as group members. They recognize and understand the different processes and interrelationships to the business and R&D activities of a company. The students are also able to perceive the significance of ICT infrastructure and activity management systems for the company’s business activity and they understand the characteristics and strategic use of the framework of business activity. They are able to produce an extensive description of a company’s business activity processes by utilizing information technological solutions.
Good (3-4): The students master the terminology and the work in a group as its parts. They perceive the different processes of a company, recognize the interrelationships of information systems and perceive the significance of R&D activity to the company’s business activity.
Satisfactory (1-2): The students show that they understand the basic terminology and they are able to participate in group work in a suitable way. They can produce a simple description of the activity of a company’s processes by utilizing information technological solutions and they perceive the significance of R&D activity to the activity of the company. The students understand also the concept of the activity control system.
