Objective
The students understand the significance of database management, are able to support application development and database use, testing and training. They know how to manage a database, save structures; specify users, user groups and access rights; secure data, monitor and optimise databases.
Content
The structure and operation of database management systems, the duties of a database administrator (DBA); installing, administration and management of a database.
The technologies of query database systems (data banks). The most common database management systems. Object-oriented and XML databases and other trends in data management.
