Objective
The students master the operation of IP-QoS mechanisms and technologies affecting the service quality of trunk networks. In addition, they master the configuration and control of IP-QoS mechanisms, and can build multicast distribution technology and configure related factors affecting service quality.
Content
Course content consists of a 3-credit theory part of QoS technologies and 7 credits of QoS network design and configuration.
Main topics: QoS structural parts, IP-QoS, protocols and QoS, Hierarchic QoS, E2E-QoS, VPLS, Hierarchic VPLS, EVC (Mac-in-Mac, Q-in-Q), Traffic Engineering. Main technologies also include Carrier Ethernet, multicast distribution (IPTV), streaming.
Qualifications
-LAN, broadband and WAN technologies, protocols and standards
-Can design a LAN and its connections to WANs for special purposes
-Basic configuration of switches and routers
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Very good (4-5): The student has a clear overall idea of the subject and he/she is able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired independently.
Good (3): The student masters well the essential learning objectives of the course.
Satisfactory (1-2): Poor mastery of the learning objectives of the course, the idea of the subject is fragmentary.
Not accepted (0): The student does not master the subject.
