Objective

The students know the principles and theories of general IT service management and data security. They can apply their knowledge to designing and implementing data security and services in practice. They know the principle, elements and protocols of network management. They can implement network management with common network management tools, and are able to implement the policy, strategy and guidelines for action included in a company’s data security plan.

Content

Definitions of data security, planning methods, encryption algorithms, data security protocols, authentication, certification, PKI, VPN, general threats to data security, methods in the implementation of a data security threat, fault management, management of an IT service, OSI network management, management protocols and tools.

Qualifications

The OSI model, IP subrouting; the basics of data networks, devices and concepts, the basics and cabling of LANs; a basic knowledge of operating systems

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) The student has a clear overall view how to realize IT service management and data security for the needs of enterprises.
Good (3-4) The student can design a SME-level IT service management and data security.
Satisfactory (1-2) The student can design components of IT the service management and data security.
