Objective
The students have a basic knowledge of licence-free frequency band (WLAN, WPAN) wireless telecommunication technologies and master the network design.
Content
The course content consists of a theory part on wireless technologies and laboratory exercises, in which the students familiarize themselves with standard IEEE802.11 WLAN networks, their design, radio route disturbances, and RTLS indoor localization. In the sensor network laboratories the students familiarize themselves with the optimization and control of the routing of structureless networks.
In addition, the students are introduced to the applications of RFID technology and and other similar technologies. Upon completion of the course, the participants can focus on a chosen technology in a separately specified information technology project assignment.
Qualifications
Mastery of the mathematical basic skills needed in telecommunications technology (Fourier transformation, spectral analysis, modulation methods)
Basics of telecommunication networks and systems
ISO OSI model
Mastery of the basic theory of wireless data transfer

Excellent 5: The student masters comprehensively the wireless data transfer technologies of licence free frequency bands and he (she) has a versatile knowledge of the design of the networks.
Very good 4: : The student masters the wireless data transfer technologies of licence free frequency bands and he (she) knows the design of the networks.
Good 3: The student has the basic knowledge of the wireless data transfer technologies of licence free frequency bands and he (she) knows the basics of the network design.
Satisfactory 2: The student knows the basis of the wireless data transfer technologies of licence free frequency bands and he (she) knows fairly the network design.
Sufficient 1: The student knows the basis of the wireless data transfer technologies of licence free frequency bands and he (she) knows fairly simple network design.
