The concept of a function, the basics of differential and integral calculus.
Excel spreadsheet program and Mathcad program.
The students know and master the central concepts, contents and natural laws of kinematics and dynamics and they can apply them with the help of mathematics, in the later modules of the degree programme.
Physics 1: The students know and master the central concepts, contents and natural laws of kinematics and dynamics and they can apply them by using mathematics in the modules studied later in the degree programme.
Physics 2: The students master the basic concepts and contents of the physics of states of matter, thermology and heat transfer , and natural laws, being also able to apply the theory, with the help of mathematics, in the later modules of the degree programme.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Very good (4-5): The student can apply the dynamics of a rigid body and the basic equations of electromagnetism in a creative manner and by using them is able to solve different kinds of problems.
Good (3): The student is familiar with the dynamics of a rigid body and the theory of electromagnetism. However, when applying the theory there are minor deficiencies.
Satisfactory (1-2): The student’s mastery of the learning objectives of the course is inadequate and the knowledge of the subject is fragmentary.
