Objective

The students can solve separable first and second order linear differential equations. The students can solve matrix equations. The students understand the operation principle of fuzzy logic. The students know the basic concepts of probability calculus and the most important probability distributions. The students understand the basic idea of linear optimization. The students can use their knowledge in applications.

Content

Differential equations, Laplace transformation, matix equations, fuzzy logic, probability calculus,queue theory, linear optimisation.
Use of mathematical computer programs in applications.

Qualifications

The students can form expressions, equations or functions. The students can handle expressions and solve equations by hand, using a calculator or mathematical computer programs. The students master the writing of mathematical expressions and also the use of necessary information technological tools. The students understand the concept of a function, they can draw and analyze graphs of functions and form equations of functions from graphs. The students master the basics od derivative and integral calculus for real functions and they can use their knowledge in applications. The students know the basic calculations with complex numbers and matrices,

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Very good (4-5): The student has a clear overall idea of the subject and the competence to apply probability calculus and differential equations to simple scientific problems.
Good (3): The student masters the most important learning objectives of the course: the solutions of probability calculus and differential equations
Satisfactory (1-2): The student masters inadequately the learning objectives of the course: the idea of the subject is fragmentary.
