Content
Fabrication methods of sheet metal products in machine workshops. Die cutting technology. General sheet metal work technologies (cutting, bending, forming and joining). Mechanical joining methods. Surface treatments. Sheet metal materials. Design and development of sheet metal product manufacturing.
Qualifications
The students master the basics of common sheet metal work methods, as well as related machines and devices used in machine workshops.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Very good (4-5): The student masters the learning objectives of the course required to get the grade Good (3) and in addition to this can develop sheet metal products and their production in a systematic and innovative manner.
Good (3): The student is able to make well-grounded decisions and to:
- choose production methods and machines suitable for sheet metal products
- develop production methods and systems of sheet metal products
- select materials suitable for sheet metal products
- design sheet metal products taking into consideration their producibility.
Satisfactory (1-2): The student is familiar with the production methods of sheet metal products and is able to develop them into production chains taking into account technical and economical benefits. Moreover, the student is familiar with the most common sheet metal materials, automation methods of sheet metal work but is able only satisfactorily to carry out design and develop tasks.
The assessment is based on the exam and learning assignments.
