Objective

The students master the basic calculation of connected three-phase circuits and the concepts related to power. They know the basic structure of the current supply system, its basic components and protection principles. They master the basic structure of common electric machines, their operating principles and ranges of use. They have a basic knowledge of the structure, operation and control of regulated AC drives. They are able to dimension different motor drives in ordinary applications.

Content

Connected three-phase systems and three-phase powers. The basic components and network structure of the current supply system. The structure and operation of common electric machines. The structure and operation of regulated electric drives. The principles of choosing, dimensioning and controlling electric drives.

Qualifications

o Basics of Electrical Engineering (IIZS1010)
o Circuit Analysis (IIZS2010)
o Applied Physics (IIZF3010)

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Very good (4-5): The student masters the basics of the electric drive technology and can apply the knowledge to practice, for example he/she can dimension and select components.
Good (3): The student masters the most important knowledge related to electric drives and understands their significance in electric systems.
Satisfactory (1-2): The student is familiar with the basic components of the electric drives and the uses of them.
