The concept of a function, The basics of differential and integral calculus.
Excel spreadsheet program and Mathcad program.
The students know and master the central concepts, contents and natural laws of kinematics and dynamics and they can apply them with the help of mathematics, in the later modules of the degree programme.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Very good (4-5): The student can apply the basic equations of thermophysics in a creative manner and by using them is able to solve different kinds of problem.
Good (3): The student is familiar with the theory of thermophysics. However, there are minor deficiencies in the application of the theory.
Satisfactory (1-2): The student's mastery of the learning objectives of the course is inadequate and the knowledge of the subject is fragmentary.
