Objective
The aim is to know the causes and effects of structural damage resulting from base structures. To know the renovation methods used in base structures and to know how to utilize these methods. To know the problems connected with radon and radon repair methods.
The students know the methods of steel frame reinforcement, the dimensioning of multiaxially loaded bolted and welded joints, the dimensioning of structures in cross-section class 4, the design of trusses, and the fire-technical design of steel structures. Moreover, the students know the steel structure design software of Rautaruukki and can use Winram to design steel structures.
The students master the dimensioning of wood structures.
The students are able to solve statically undetermined structures with the general work method and the angular distortion method. They are familiar with the risks present in computer-aided calculation.
