Objective

The students know the organisations related to private forestry, forest policy guidelines and the operational environment of private forestry. They know the characteristics of forestry entrepreneurship, can calculate the profitability of a forestry enterprise, make a timber sales contract and forest tax declaration.

Content

Preconditions for forestry and its economic significance, structure and goals of forest owners, organisations of private forestry, means of guidance in private forestry, forestry as entrepreneurship, profitability of forestry and profit calculation, forest sale, forest taxation

Qualifications

The students know the basic theory and methods of forest regeneration and management, as well as the essentials of forest planning.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Inexperienced performer (1-2)
o The student knows forestry organisations and agendas of forest policy. They know basic profitability calculations and can create a timber sales form and forest tax declaration.
Developing performer (3-4)
o In addition to the aforementioned, the student can assess the profitability of forest entrepreneurship, plan work on a forest holding, and apply financial calculations.
Competent performer (5)
o In addition to the aforementioned, the student can assess changes in the business environment and develop the profitability of forest entrepreneurship.
