Objective

The students understand the structure and operation of national economy as a whole. They develop an overall picture of Finnish national economy and its development prospects. They know significant local and global development trends. They understand the ethical principles and earnings logic of economic activity. They know the objectives and means of agricultural, forest, rural and regional policy. They know the structure, functions and methods of the organizations involved in the development of rural areas. They are aware of the possibilities to contribute to the development of their field. They are able to assess the needs to develop activities, caused by changes in the rural business environment, as well as the impact of internationalization on the development of companies and the entire sector.
