Objective
The students plan, implement and evaluate the nursing of an acute and operative patient and, under guidance, interpret vital functions and examination results. The students guide operative patients and their families following the principles of a rehabilitative work approach. The students implement safe clinical nursing in surgical wards, operating units and emergency units or intensive care units or surgical outpatient clinic . The students prepare documentation as required by legislation, and they become familiar with the most typical sudden nursing and emergency situations and the safe use of nursing technology.

The students have basic skills in acute and operative nursing. They have passed the pharmaceutical calculation test.

Pass (S): Students
Follow the ethical principles of operative and acute nursing and patient safety
Together with the patients and their families, they plan, implement and evaluate nursing in a customer-oriented manner, applying multidisciplinary evidence-based knowledge
Are skilled in key nursing procedures and the safe use of implements
Are able to implement safe drug and rehydration therapy
Are able to guide and prepare patients for key examinations and interventions of operative nursing
Are capable of oral communication and documentation for the patient record system as required by legislation
Implement goal-oriented and health promotive guidance in a customer-oriented manner and drawing on appropriate guidance and teaching material.
Follow the work community rules, act with initiative and demonstrate ability for cooperation
Assess their own actions critically and suggest targets for development.
