Objective
The student will recognise existing knowledge in family work. He/she will be able to objectively specify developmental needs related to multidisciplinary family work. The student will deepen his/her family work in practical development assignments.
The student will be familiar with the ethical considerations in family work as well as reflect on various family concepts and phenomena.
The student will understand the diversity of family support services and know how to innovatively utilise the possibilities afforded by multidisciplinary co-operation.
The student will know how to apply theoretical knowledge related to family work, putting it into practice (e.g. resource-orientation, dialogism, educational family work).
Content
Orientation in further multidisciplinary family studies. The student can specify his/her personal goal for further studies in family competence and find ways to achieve it.
Classroom themes include family phenomena, current family concepts, multidisciplinary family support services as well as dialogism, resource-orientation and educational family work.
Development work places an emphasis on the development of customer-oriented, ethically sustainable and creative solutions in practical, multidisciplinary work. Student development work is conducted in either a JAMK project or in co-operation with a partner. Development work comprehends the critical acquisition of information and sharing of learned knowledge.
Qualifications
Basic knowledge of operating principles and professional ethics in the health care field.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Pass
The student has a basic command of family work and displays it in classroom lessons, development work and his/her portfolio. He/she is able to acquire information independently and distribute that information. The student possesses problem-solving skills, which he/she uses in development work and his/her portfolio. The student assumes responsibility for his/her assignments, acts in accordance with given ground rules and using a developmental work approach. He/she understands the principles of group work and internal entrepreneurship related to development work and his/her portfolio.
