Objective
The student is able to independently plan, implement and assess counseling and care related to public health nursing of an antenatal family as well as a family with children.
The student masters the empowering and family-centered approach to health of family promotion.
The student know show to support and counsel families in the promotion of braesfeeding and sexual health and in family planning.
The student is able to consciously observe their own personal way to act in individual, group and cooperational situations.
The student is able to make follow-up check and cab write a follow-up check note.
Content
Family centered and empowering methods in promoting child welfare and health.
Supporting and counseling families in parenthood and in their growth into parenthood.
Family training.
Qualifications
The student masters the basics of nursing and has theoretical and clinical competence in health promotion, nursing related to national health concerns, families and communities, and is able to operate in different health care settings.
Theoretical studies of the public health nursing of antenatal families as well as families with children.
Drug calculation examination passed.

The student masters the main knowledge base of the health promotion of individuals, families and communities in family planning and maternity and child health clinic activities. He/she is able to acquire information independently and to learn and develop his/her learning methods. The student is able to act in multiprofessional operating environments. The student is able to assess his/her public health nursing knowledge base from various perspectives. The student is able to use information and communication technology to acquire, edit and produce information and to communicate it to members of his/her team.
The student is able to apply the central working methods of health promotion in family planning and maternity and child health clinic activities. The student is able to flexibly adapt his/her actions to the changing challenges of assignments and operating environments. The student also has skills to act in unexpected situations in his/her field.
The student finds it a challenge to cope with more demanding professional assignments related to public health nursing.The student assumes responsibility for professional public health nursing assignments and projects assigned to him/her, acts in the agreed manner and with an instructive work approach, taking other actors into consideration. He/she masters the most common communication situations and technologies of public health nursing and understands the principles of team work and entrepreneurship. He/she is able to plan, organise and develop his/her own activities. The student is familiar with international sources of information concerning health promotion.

The student has not mastered the basic knowledge of public health nursing practice.The student does not have skills to solve problems related to public health nursing, especially in unexpected situations. He/she risks or neglects customer safety and violates the confidentiality rule.
The student does not demonstrate an ability to assume his/her share of responsibility for professional assignments and projects. The student avoids and/or is indifferent to the patient/customer. His/her behaviour is unprofessional (language, clothing, intoxicants). The student acts irresponsibly and passively in relation to the operating principles of the training unit (e.g. observance of working times). He/she does not perceive the level of his/her competence or learning needs, and is unable to make use of feedback. The student exceeds his/her authority. He/she has a negative attitude to his/her learning.
