Orientation to Client WorkLaajuus (7 cr)

Objective

The student knows one basic field and working methods in social work and social services. S/he knows the requirements and qualities of social work S/he can manage in the chosen operational environment and in client work.

Content

Professionl training and studing in the units of social service and care according to student's personal study plan. Familiarization with the operational system and service system, customership and use of services, the methods of client work; self-assessment of client work skills and definition of own developmental challenges.

Qualifications

The student knows the basic theoretical and ethical principles in client work.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Pass:The Student
-knows the services and service system of his/her practising place
- knows the partners and the ways of partnership
- knows the goals of client work
- knows the methods of client work and is active in them
- recognizes the clients needs and potentials
- is responsible and proactive in his/her work
- knows his/her competences and is goal oriented in his/her studies
- profits from feedback
Fail:The Student
- can’t capture his/her practising place as a part of the whole service system
-is not interested in partnerships
-is passive or irresponsible in his/her work
- is problem oriented in his/her work
- avoids the client situations
- acts against his/her promise of confidentality
-is inflexible in his/her opinions
-is incapable to assess his/her competences and interaction skills
- acts without counselling and is incapable to profit from it
