Objective

The student knows the changes in social policy, economy and Finnish lifestyle and the significance of these changes in everyday life. They also know the impacts of these changes in social security and work done in the field of social care. The students recognize economical and structural pressures for change of a welfare state and society as well as phenomena related to globalization. The students get used to follow the discussion in media about welfare and social and health care services.

The student knows the basic questions concerning the clientship and the services of social- and health care.
