Objective
The student understands the meaning of senses and motor experiences in self expression, learning and wellbeing. S/he can pay attention to different sense and motor skills in client work. The student understands the possibilities of art, handicraft, music and physical action in special education.
The student can plan and produce activating and therapeutic materials, activities or spaces to stimulate senses and the body. S/he can use and apply the methods of visual arts, handicraft, music and physical action in a way that s/he can guide, assist and support the clients with special needs in rehabilitation, work and hobbies.
Content
Sense stimulation, Snoezelen, music therapy, body outlining, relaxation
Visual conceptualization, Colors, and visual expression.
Handicraft methods.
Indoor and outdoor activities. Dance and creative movement.
The planning and guiding principles of the groups and projects.
Qualifications
The student has general knowledge of creative expression in health-and social care. S/he has general knowledge of sense and motor difficulties in human action.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Excellent 5, Very good 4: The student has excellent theoretical competence in expressive and functional counseling skills. S/He shows creative and innovative problem solving skills in all fields of art- and physical education. (5)The student is critical and capable to develop his/her practical counseling skills in client work.(4)
Good 3: The student has holistic theoretical competence and understanding in expressive and functional counseling skills. S/He shows creative and good problem solving skills in all fields of art- and physical education. The student is capable to develop his/her and practical counseling skills in client work.
Satisfactory 2, Sufficient 1: The student is capable to organize and assess expressive and functional activities. S/He has basic problem solving and expressive skills in art- and physical education.(1)
