Objective
The students have readiness to participate in supporting the development and empowerment of ADHD clients of different age groups in cooperation with the client and the immediate community, and with other experts. They are familiar with various assessment, education and guidance methods of ADHD children, youths and adults.
Content
Diagnosis, characteristics and prevalence of ADHD, support needs and their evaluation, as well as possibilities provided by special education and guidance.
Qualifications
The students are familiar with the basics of special education and they are interested in working with social and health care clients. Foreknowledge about ADHD is not needed.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Excellent (5): The student participates in class work and discussions in the E-learning environment and completes the given assignments. In the written assignment, the student deals with the subject from a wide viewpoint and with critical reasoning, in accordance with the assignment. The student familiarizes him/herself with the subject and shows a profound understanding of the subject area and ability to reach syntheses. The source material is comprehensive and relevant. The student also utilizes international sources. The student follows the JAMK reporting instructions.
Very good - good (4-3): The student participates in class work and discussions in the E-learning environment and completes the given assignments. In the written assignments, the student deals with the subject from a sufficiently wide viewpoint, in accordance with the assignment. The student is able to connect the subject with a wider context but the choice of the subjects is justified fairly weakly. The student familiarizes him/herself with the subject and shows that he/she understands the subject area and partly also the wider contexts. He/she is able to describe and justify the subject. The source material includes the most important sources. The student follows the JAMK reporting instructions.
Satisfactory - Sufficient (2-1): The student participates in most of the classes but rarely in the discussion in the E-learning environment. The student completes the given assignments. In the written assignments, the student deals with the subject in a superficial way. To a certain extent, the student is able to connect the subject with a wider context but the choice of the subjects is justified weakly. The student familiarizes him/herself with the subject and shows a general understanding the subject area and ability to describe the subject in a fairly comprehensive way. The source material is scarce but contains the required basic sources. The student follows most of the JAMK reporting instructions.
