Objective

The students know the stages of the project cycle. They demonstrate initiative, a development-oriented approach, and problem-solving and decision-making skills when implementing concrete, small-scale R&D tasks or projects. They can act in multiprofessional teams and R&D tasks, and can apply the main research methods and methods developing working life in an appropriate way. They can report on the results of their work according to the requirements of the task.

Content

Project planning and reporting.
JUA's R&D projects in cooperation with working life.
Workplace-based development assignments.

Qualifications

The student knows the essential basics of R&D.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

General criteria for the competence produced by the applied university education can be found in http://www.jamk.fi/english/forstudents/studyguide.
The learning outcome is assessed in relation with the learning objectives of the course. The grading scale is pass(s) / fail (0). The grade is 0 (Fail), if the student fails to achieve the objectives set for the course.
Pass: The student is able to acquire and estimate information, and share it with others to complete the development assignment. The student masters the phases of project cycle and is able to apply them in creation of research, development and project plans.
S/he is able to carry out a research or development task in cooperation with a team, applying research and development methods.
S/he shows initiative and is able to solve task related problems in cooperation with a team.
S/he is capable of written and oral communication about the products of his/her research / development task.
