Objective
The students are familiar with key concepts of nursing and the relevant field of research as the foundation of nursing. They find, interpret and assess information critically and understand the significance of reliable information for decision-making in nursing. They are familiar with the thought processes and operating models of evidence-based decision-making.

Nursing science as a knowledge base of nursing
Problem-solving process, decision-making models, critical thinking and reflective practice
Evidence-based practice and decision making
Nursing process, documentation and data protection / security
Client orientation and ethical nursing
Qualifications
The students are familiar with the service systems and diversity of clients in the social and health care sector, as well as the concepts, key contents and methods of the promotion and guidance of health and well-being.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Pass (S):
The students are familiar with reliable databases, understand the significance of summarised research information and are able to find information. The students systematically draw on compiled, analysed and summarised research evidence as well as best practices and care recommendations in learning assignments. The students are able to apply an evidence-based decision-making model in learning assignments, applying legislation and ethical principles. The students have followed the JAMK reporting instructions in the learning assignment
