Objective

The students are able to understand economic texts and terminology and to interactively analyse and summarise the central contents orally and in writing. Versatile familiarisation with Swedish financial pages, emphasising the trade between Sweden and Finland. Continuous monitoring of the labour market (Hbl, HS, KSML) with focus on the requirements of Bachelors of Business Administration with respect to economic knowledge and language skills needed in different tasks.

Content

Topical materials (Swedish/Finnish), covering the sectors of economy as extensively as possible (statistics, forecasts, market and competitive situation, economic cycles, investments, company presentations, activities especially on the close markets). Student assignments are based on local, familiar, preferably Swedish companies and Finland's image in Swedish financial pages.

Qualifications

Common European Framework of Reference, level (B1) B2.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Mastery of the subject, active class participation
