Objective

The students acquire familiarity with the different areas of orchestral conducting. They are capable of group command and of rehearsing diverse ensembles. They have the readiness to express musical thought through their hands and verbally and to conduct diverse ensembles in performance. They are capable of working with students of different ages and from different cultural backgrounds.

Ergonomic conducting technique
Orchestral instrument groups and transposing instruments
Open score analysis and playing
Group command and interaction skills
Verbal communication
Team work
Familiarity with the main orchestral repertoire.

Qualifications

Knowledge of orchestral conducting's basic concepts is indispensable. Basic command of beating and rehearsing techniques.

Grade scale 1 - 5
Basic ability (1,2)
Commands the basic concepts of development of own area
