Constructing an Environmental Management System. (5cr)

Objective

The students can create/manage an environmental system for a rural enterprise. They can identify the needs arising in business activity for the creation of an environmental system with regard to environmental management and quality management in an enterprise. The students can motivate entrepreneurs to continuously considering the environment as a success factor of a company. They also know the audit procedure.

Content

Environmental systems, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, EcoStart, EMAS, environmental communication, auditing

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of ecology, agricultural and forestry production

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Inexperienced performer 1-2
The student knows the outlines of environmental systems. He/she can lead the creation of an environmental system with regard to the essentials of a rural enterprise. He/she knows the significance of environmental systems for the continuous improvement of the state of the environment and as a business success factor.

Developing performer 3-4
In addition to the aforementioned, the student can create an environmental system for a rural enterprise. The significance of an environmental system for the various parties becomes an integral part of the student’s communication.

Competent performer 5
In addition to the aforementioned, the student actively contributes to the creation of environmental systems and develops the systems to better meet the requirements of business activity. The student can operate as a member of an audit team.
