Objective
The students are able to plan a transport system for new products or product groups, to develop an existing transport system, and to form tailored transport solutions. They are acquainted with the properties of design models and their use, both based on theory and the use of application software.
Content
The starting points for planning transport systems; operative, tactical and strategic level planning; classification of transport, transport problems, the impact of distribution channel on transport system, factors affecting decisions regarding the planning of supply network, transport economics and measuring, utilization of information systems in planning, basics of route planning, planning and pricing cargo, spatial data system, the use of action research methods in planning, the use of design tools.
Qualifications
Good general knowledge of logistics, the basics of action research methods, mastery of derivation and integration, basic statistical mathematics; the ability to choose a technically and economically suitable form of transport, to calculate the costs of transport and price transport, to recognize the structures of material and product supply chains.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Exam 50% and assignment 50%
