Paper Machine Technology 2 (5cr)

Objective

The student understands the main components, materials of the paper- and boardmaking line and their application based on requirements of the industry.

Content

Papermaking line components, materials, rolls, roll covers and the auxiliary systems from stock preparation to roll wrapping.

Qualifications

The student understands sub-processes of papermaking line, their function, factors affecting productivity and quality of the paper. One has the basic knowledge of the papermaking process and raw materials.
In addition the student must know the terminology of papermaking and paper machine technology in English

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5) the student has attained the objectives of the course at an excellent level.
Good (3-4) the student has attained the objectives of the course at a satisfactory level.
Satisfactory (1-2) as a rule, the student has attained the objectives of the course.
