Objective
The students are familiar with the basic theory of reliability engineering and understand the connection of failure modes and mechanisms with predictive maintenance monitoring methods. The students are familiar with the special features and implementation requirements of the most typical maintenance concepts. The students are able to define performance indicators from a maintenance management point of view. The students identify change management methods in the implementation of the maintenance concepts and development
Content
Maintenance terminology. Availability and reliability. Failure modes and mechanisms. Reliability-centered maintenance - RCM. Total productive maintenance - TPM. Operator driven reliability - ODR. Implementation of the maintenance concepts. Change management methods in the maintenance development

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Very good (4-5): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills required to get the grade Good (3) and can apply the knowledge in a critical and innovative manner when solving a development problem. The student can also apply the change management methods to his/her working environment.
Good (3): The student masters in addition to the basic knowledge and skills mentioned below the following and can apply the knowledge acquired:
- Performance measurement systems in the maintenance development
- Basic implementation of the maintenance concepts
Satisfactory (1-2): The student masters the basic knowledge and skills covered by the course:
- Concepts and definitions of the maintenance
- Basic questions related to reliability technology
- Content, differences and implementation of maintenance concepts
