Objective
The students understand individual and group behavioural psychology and regularities. They internalize the significance of leadership as a competitive and wellness factor in an expert work community. They have a positive and balanced idea of man and can also examine themselves from different perspectives as members of their work community. They value constructive feedback and are able to develop themselves and their staff. They are supportive towards colleagues and able to actively promote interaction and community spirit in the work community. They are competent change managers and master internal training for change, both regarding themselves and their work community.
The students have a clearly organized view of competence management and they are able to create a competence strategy for their work community, aiming at continuous development of personnel resources and core competencies. They have internalized the basic concepts and models of strategic thinking and strategic management, being able to apply them to the development of their community and its competitive edge in a changing operational environment. They understand the potential and significance of national and global networking in developing their work community, as well as recognizing its and their own social responsibility in managing sustainable development. They are able to assess and develop their own and staff’s competencies in the daily activities of the work community.
Content
Measuring, utilizing and developing existing competence (competence mapping and profiles, tacit knowledge, the challenges of ageing). Self-knowledge, emotional intelligence and human relations. Change management. Competence management and strategic management. Strategic thinking, the strategy process and the creation of a competence strategy. The identification and removal of the obstacles to innovation and creativity. Competence management in global networks. Management of the continuous maintenance of motivation.
Qualifications
The students know the basics of business management and the principles of occupational psychology.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Assessment criteria: 1) active class participation; 2) ability to work in groups and present results orally and in writing; 3) quality of the written assignment of independent study; 4) exam based on lectures and literature. A pass requires 44% of the total score, excellent 90% of total score.
