Osaamistavoitteet

Tässä opintojaksossa tuotannolla tarkoitetaan osien valmistamista loppuasiakkaan tarpeisiin. Opintojaksolla tutustutaan sekä perinteisiin että moderneihin valmistusmenetelmiin ja niihin liittyviin materiaaleihin, sillä materiaalilla on iso merkitys tuotteen hinnan muodostumiseen, valmistettavuuteen ja käytettävyyteen. Toimiessasi logistiikkainsinöörinä sinulla tulee olla hyvä ymmärrys valmistusmenetelmien ja materiaalien vaikutuksesta kustannuksiin.

Tällä opintojaksolla opit
- etsimään tietoa materiaaleista ja niiden ominaisuuksista
- tuntemaan eri materiaaleja ja niihin liittyviä valmistusteknologioita
- tuntemaan eri layout tyyppejä ja tuotantostrategioita
- ymmärtämään materiaalien ominaisuuksia ja niiden vaikutuksia valintoihin
- soveltamaan materiaalien valintaa ja valmistusteknologioita

Käytyäsi opintojakson ymmärrät laajasti opintojaksolla käsiteltyjen asioiden terminologian. Saat laaja-alaisen näkemyksen eri materiaaleista, valmistusteknologioista ja niiden mahdollisuuksista. Ymmärrät, miten eri materiaaleja ja valmistusteknologioita voidaan hyödyntää todellisiin käyttökohteisiin. Saat osaamiset ja valmiudet etsiä tietoa eri materiaaleista ja valmistusteknologioista.

Opintojaksolla edistettävät ja arvioitavat osaamiset: teknologiaosaaminen, tekniikan soveltaminen käytäntöön, viestintä ja tiimityö.

Opintojakson osaamistavoite:
Ymmärrät valmistusteknologioiden terminologian, eri materiaalien mahdollisuudet ja niiden merkityksen. Hallitset opintojaksolla käsiteltyjen asioiden keskeiset käsitteet ja teoriat sekä osaat soveltaa aiempaa osaamistasi valmistusteknologioiden että materiaalien valintaan.

Sisältö

Opintojaksolla käsitellään seuraavia pääteemoja:
- Lay-out tyypit ja tuotantojärjestelmät
- Valmistustusteknologiat (materiaalit, menetelmät)
- Eri materiaalit - rakenne ja ominaisuudet
- Materiaalien valinta ja hankintakanavat
- Materiaalien ja valmistusteknologioiden soveltaminen

Objective

In this course, production refers to manufacturing products for the end customer. The course introduces both traditional and modern manufacturing methods and materials related to them. As the material plays an important role in the price formation, manufacturability and usability of the product, you working as an logistics engineer should have a good understanding of the impact of manufacturing methods and materials on costs.

In this course you will learn
- find information on materials and their properties
- know different materials and manufacturing techniques involved to materials
- know different layout types and production strategies
- understand properties of materials and their impact on choices
- apply materials selection and manufacturing technologies

After completing this course, you will have a broad understanding of the terminology of the topics covered in the course. You gain knowledge of the various materials, manufacturing technologies and their potential. You will understand how different materials and manufacturing technologies can be used for real applications. You will have the skills and the ability to search for information about different materials and manufacturing technologies.

Competencies: technological knowledge, engineering practice, communication and team-working.

Learning outcomes:
You will understand the terminology of manufacturing technologies, potential of different materials and their importance. You will manage the key concepts and theories of the topics covered in this course and will be able to apply your prior knowledge to the choice of manufacturing technologies and materials.

- Material choice and supply chain
- Apply of materials and manufacturing methods

Teaching methods

Course includes lectures, returnable learning assignments and possible laboratory tasks. Course can also include wider project work made with group of students.

Assignments are done as independent work. The assignments are described in the course workspace. All assignments are either individual assignments or group assignments (described in course workspace) and their due dates will be confirmed as the course progresses.

Employer connections

Seminars, webinars, etc. that take place during the course can be included in the course. This will be discussed in more detail during the course.

Exam schedules

Assessment is based on learning assignments.
The possible date and method of the exam will be announced in the course opening information.
