Materials
All the materials required to pass the course will be provided by the teacher. The learning materials will be available in Moodle when the course starts. The materials consist of articles and videos.

Further information
In order to pass the course, the students should actively participate in class, and they should complete individual assignments. The students are expected to pass 5 knowledge quizzes. The knowledge quizzes will be organized after every second class and the final quiz will be related only to the final class (9 classes = 5 quizzes). The knowledge quizzes will be based on the course materials and will have multiple choice questions.
This course has a final assignment. In the final assignment, the students should reflect on the course materials, readings, and personal experiences. They should demonstrate that they understood themes discussed in the course, and that they are able to critically reflect on them.

Student workload
Two ECTS corresponds to around 54 hours of work. The course consists of 9 online sessions each lasting 1.5 hours. The total amount of teaching hours is 13.5. This means that it is expected from the students to spend around 40 hours on individual tasks. The individual tasks consist of familiarizing with the course materials (readings and videos), completing knowledge quizzes in Moodle, and doing the final assignment.
The workload is divided as presented below:
-familiarizing with the course materials – 13.5h
-knowledge quizzes – 5.5h
-final assignment – 21h
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Passing the course requires completion of all required assignments (5 knowledge quizzes and a final assignment). The students are expected to actively participate in class and to come prepared (readings and videos). An 80% attendance requirement is applied.

Teaching methods
Teacher: Anica Cvetkovic
The course is organized online, and it consists of 9 online sessions.
Mon, Wed & Fri: 23.05., 25.05., 27.05. 30.05., 01.06., 03.06., 06.06., 08.06. and 10.06. at 14.30–16.00.
The course is interactive, and students are expected to actively participate in discussions. A flipped-classroom model is applied,and the students are expected to prepare at home by reading articles or watching videos. All course materials will be stored in Moodle. There will be a possibility for students to freely discuss the course content in Moodle.
Each student will receive individual feedback on the final assignment after the course. The students are also welcome to send course-related questions and comments directly to the teacher via email or in Moodle.

After completing this course, the student will be able to:
-understand the basic differences and similarities between Slavic cultures
-be familiar with some of the everyday phrases in Slavic languages
-have a basic idea about the everyday life of Slavic countries
-critically approach and discuss intercultural differences.
Objective
On completion of the course, the student will be familiarised with the most important concepts related to Slavic cultures, identities, and languages.
