Objective

Upon completion of this course, it is expected that students will be able to:
1. understand various dynamics of the world economy and global business, including, economic and business environment, global finance, regional competitiveness, technology, training, knowledge, employment, culture, and socio-economic aspects,

2. understand relevant theoretical principles and models,
3. apply aforesaid principles and models in analysing various aspects related to business potential in the global settings.

Content

During the course a student is mades familiar with various theories, for example, theory of international trades; models, for example, Porter’s Diamond Model; and methods of analysis, for example, SWOT. This learning process is inclusive of lectures, case studies and group work. Specifically, the course is supported by three cases offered by Microeconomics of Competitiveness of Harvard Business School. Involvement of international guest lecturers in the course aims to bring in specific expertise. A student will apply this knowledge and practices in a business specific group assignment, which will presented and assessed by a panel of experts.
