Objective

The students
• master the key concepts, phenomena and international and national event market of meeting and event production
•can anticipate the requirements of different tourists with regard to meetings and events
•can develop meeting and event production supporting a business idea
•can assess the profitability of meeting and event production
•can manage unbroken meeting and event production processes surpassing the expectations of the customers of a tourism enterprise
•can build qualitative and economic follow-up systems for meeting and event products and utilize the information they have collected to develop them
•can plan, market, produce and productify customer-oriented meeting and event services based on sustainable development
•master the event production process and utilize modern tools and methods to implement and manage it
•can exploit the specific appeal factors of Finnish tourism to create meeting and event services which meet international quality criteria

Qualifications

The students can act in a customer-oriented way. They know the business environment of the tourism cluster, master basic business competence and the earnings logic of service and production processes. They can produce and manage experiential services.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Assessment is based on the student’s ability to perform product development in practice and on his/her understanding of the processes required in the work.
